Cobi continues to win more clients and increase in numbers, including a larger management team. Leaving us at a proud total of 17 employees. Cobi soon after relocates to a new, larger office – with an enthusiastic spirit to renovate the new space!

In 2016 Cobi goes to MWC in Barcelona. Along with other expanded departments, in-house design and UX talent is added to the team mix. By end of 2017 web app development is introduced. Vula wins platinum at the 2017 Impumelelo award ceremony.

Cobi is now a leader in mobile development, operates in 3 major cities worldwide; Cape Town, London and Singapore. Employees increase to 11 specialists covering a broad range of skills. CMS development is introduced. Vula wins MTN App of the Year Award!

Cobi merged with MobiWorks, a mobile software development startup and grew to a team of 8 specialists in mobile development. As a result Cobi moved out of the initial garage space and into a more formal office space.

Just over a year after starting up, Cobi took on a 4th member, sparking a dramatic growth in business opportunities. By 2012 Cobi became BEE compliant, had been featured in Forbes magazine as the 4th rated tech startup in Africa and continued to grow.

Six years ago, two young guys from Cape Town had a dream of starting a successful mobile apps company. Beginning with one small project, the business grew by word of mouth. News of the quality of their apps spread and before long, they took on another team member.
